Charities in Australia: Where Is Your Money Really Going?

A Lack of Transparency

In this episode of The Court Of Public Opinion, Jeremy raises a critical issue about the lack of transparency in the charity sector.

“All we want is a simple law that says how much of each dollar goes to the cause,” he states, expressing frustration over the ambiguity surrounding how charitable donations are spent.

This viewpoint resonates with Maria, who shares her concern about the high salaries within many charitable organisations. She wonders why so much of the donations, unfortunately, ends up covering administrative costs rather than helping.

The Call for Reform

Jeremy and Maria aren’t alone in their frustration. Both believe that the system is overdue for reform.

“Neither the Libs nor Labour will pass a law for transparency,” Jeremy argues, highlighting inaction.

Where Is the Money Going?

Les joins the conversation, echoing Jeremy and Maria’s concerns.

“Australians deserve to know how their charitable donations are used,” he asserts, advocating for greater accountability within the sector.
