The Unlaced Podcast
A driving purpose for this outlet is to enable athletes to understand what the common hurdles are with transitioning out of their chosen sports into a more common way of life.
Building awareness around the importance of athlete education, mental health, finding alternative interests outside of physical professional performance and building a mindset that can find stimulus outside of their desired sporting careers. Oh and of course we have a whole lot of fun in the process!
Jake Barker-Daish is a former professional Football player who fell short of his professional career goals. Having been built up to be a future Socceroo after Captaining the Young Socceroos, Winning AIS player of the year 2011 and playing over 30 A-league games, Jake's career stopped at 21. After experiencing injuries, setbacks and loss of connection to the sport, Jake was challenged with life after Football and this has provided a passion to talk about the other side of the athlete that not all people are accustomed to.
