Jeremy Cordeaux has worked successfully in all facets of the media: radio, television and print as well as marketing, promotions, public relations and media training.
He has gone from Office Boy to Presenter, Programme Manager, General Manager, Managing Director and Owner of three highly successful radio stations.
He started his career at Radio 2GB at the age of 16, working as a runner for broadcasting legend John Laws. He moved to 2GF Grafton, then completed a 12-month stint at 2KY in Sydney before returning to 2GB in 1973 to take over the morning show, becoming the station’s breakfast presenter in 1974.
At Channel 10 Jeremy Cordeaux learned the business of television, taking on general on-air duties, hostings and news reading. Grundy’s chose Jeremy to host the Australian television dating show Blind Date in 1970, and he later co-anchored the Adelaide edition of Seven News in the late 1980s.
In 1976, Jeremy moved to Adelaide where he hosted The Court of Public Opinion on 5DN for almost thirty years. After acquiring a 10% interest in the station he was promoted to Managing Director. He later purchased 5AD and 5SE, selling both to the Australian Radio Network in 1996.
Jeremy has been named Best Talk Show Host in the World three times at the New York International Radio Festival (1987, 1988 and 1989), won a Walkley Award for Best Current Affairs Report in 1984, been inducted into the Australian Commercial Radio Hall of Fame, and was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2006 in recognition of his service to the broadcasting industry and his support of charitable organisations.
Today, Jeremy’s show The Court of Public Opinion is live streamed every Friday and is available as a podcast through the Auscast Network, bringing his signature style of fearless opinion and seasoned journalism to audiences around Australia and beyond.
