Starting at a Roller Rink

Sean’s career began humbly as a DJ at a roller-skating rink in Adelaide. “I didn’t have a big voice, but I loved music and entertaining people,” he shares. It was during these early days that Sean discovered his passion for connecting with audiences. “Playing music and seeing people enjoy it was my first taste of what radio could be,” he recalls.

First Steps into Radio

Sean landed his first radio job at Murray Bridge’s 5MU, where he learned the ropes of broadcasting. “It was a small station, but it was the perfect place to experiment and grow,” he says. He credits these formative years with teaching him the importance of adaptability and resilience in the fast-paced world of radio.

Creating the Australian Radio School

After years on-air, Sean founded the Australian Radio School to share his knowledge with aspiring broadcasters. “Teaching has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career,” he admits. Sean emphasises the importance of hands-on learning. “I want my students to feel prepared for the challenges of this industry,” he adds.

Embracing Podcasting and Creativity

Sean’s career evolved further when he co-hosted the Everyday Conspiracy Theories Podcast. “Podcasting allows me to explore topics I wouldn’t cover on traditional radio,” he explains.
