Review: Comedy Cluedo

This show I have just been to was beyond hysterical. I am so impressed by the comedy act that I just saw far out. It was funny. This girl, Lucy Henderson, she is my spirit animal. Beyond hilarious. It was a one woman show.

What is it?

It’s called Comedy Cluedo and it’s on at the Rhino Room. Goes for an hour. She’s only got three shows, so getting quick. I wasn’t really sure what to expect. But Lucy, the main lady, has been murdered. By who? And with what weapon in what room? This took me back to my childhood playing Cluedo, battling it out with my sister at home.

Lucy really had a great way of telling all of her jokes and relating them somehow to the board game that we were all in the audience trying to solve how she’d been murdered.

So her story is built out of this interactive live comedy, taking audiences through Lucy’s personal version of classic murder mystery game Cluedo to uncover the clues to solve the crime. Each room weapon and suspect having a hilarious story behind them.

She was hysterical. I’m not quite sure how old she was, she can’t be any older than mid-twenties, and the confidence that she exuded on stage as a young woman was really impressive. I found her jokes really funny and I’m quite a hard one to play on the old comedy circuit, but this chick did it!

The Stories

From talking about her messaging. Premier Gladys Berejiklian cheering COVID lockdown days to telling us the exploits of her netball team traveling to the Gold Coast for a carnival all mixed in with all of the sort of details of every single one of her Contiki trips and her love for Contiki bus drivers. She was really funny, really, really funny.

The show was on at 10:15 at night and I’m so glad I went. I was I honestly thought I was going to be so tired and I was so tired. But all day today, I’ve had a smile on my face, just giggling at random tidbits from the show last night. Highly recommend. She did a great job. Well done.
